Travel directions

The Vienna University of Technology is located near the underground station Wien Karlsplatz in the center of the city. Wien Karlsplatz is served by the underground lines U1, U2 and U4. Schedules for all means of public transport can be found further below.

Arrival at the airport

From the airport,

• the City Airport Train (CAT) departs from the basement of the airport every 30 min and arrives at the station Wien Mitte. The ticket fare is EUR 12 (EUR 11 when booked online, EUR 14 for CAT+single journey ticket in Vienna), travel time 16 min.

• A suburban railway line, S7, also departs every 30 min from the basement of the airport and arrives at Wien Mitte. The ticket fare is EUR 4.40 (includes the single journey ticket in Vienna), travel time 24 min.

• A line of the airport bus departs from the ground level of the airport to Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz. Fare EUR 8, travel time 20 min.

Arrival by train

The university is easily reached by public transportation from all train stations. See further below.

Arrival by car

There is a garage in the basement of the Freihaus, at Operngasse 13. The daily fee is EUR 24. Around the university, there is a short term parking zone. Parking vouchers (Kurzparkscheine) are sold, for instance, at the Trafik in the Freihaus, Wiedner Hauptstr. 8-10.
